Trading Concepts
Acceptance
Price is showing willingness to trade and spend activity in an area rather than immediately leaving it. Repeated trade, profile development and stable value can all provide acceptance context.
Rejection
Price tests an area and fails to remain there. Wicks, fast return through a level or auction tails can be rejection evidence. Rejection is context, not a guarantee of a full reversal.
TPO
Time Price Opportunity. A TPO profile describes how the auction distributed time/rotation through price areas.
Volume Profile
Shows how traded volume was distributed through price rather than through time.
POC — Point of Control
The highest-participation/control area in a profile according to that profile’s construction. POC is generally read as an acceptance/reference area.
POV — Point of Void
A thin-participation area selected by the profile engine. It represents an area where the market previously spent less activity and can therefore behave differently from a POC on revisit.
VAH / VAL
Value Area High and Value Area Low. They are the upper and lower boundaries of the selected value area.
Value Migration
Describes how important value/control references shift as an auction develops. Higher migration can support bullish development; lower migration can support bearish development; stable/overlapping value can support balance. Always confirm with price behavior.
VWAP
Volume-Weighted Average Price. A session VWAP provides an average traded-price reference weighted by volume.
Initial Balance
The early-session range used as a reference for later session development and expansion.
Single Prints
TPO areas where the auction moved through with limited rotational overlap. They can represent fast movement/poor acceptance and may remain relevant until revisited.
Delta
Directional difference between buy-side and sell-side traded volume in the available orderflow representation. Positive delta indicates stronger buy-side activity; negative delta indicates stronger sell-side activity. Delta alone does not predict the next move.
CVD
Cumulative or aggregated volume-delta context. OutsiderEdge indicators can use or display CVD-style information differently depending on the tool; always read the local indicator documentation.
Footprint
A price-row view of traded activity inside a candle. OutsiderEdge footprint-based indicators require TradingView Footprint data access.
Absorption
A situation where meaningful participation occurs without equivalent directional price progress. OutsiderEdge Absorption Key Levels uses footprint information to surface candidate absorption areas; the exact internal qualification implementation is not published.
Opening Range
The high-low structure built during a defined opening window. ORB tools then evaluate what happens after this range is locked.
GEX — Gamma Exposure
A framework for understanding option-gamma-related positioning and potential dealer-hedging context. OutsiderEdge GEX indicators visualize supplied daily reference levels. The proprietary upstream level-generation engine is not part of the public Wiki.
Call Wall / Put Wall
Major supplied gamma-related reference levels associated with call-side and put-side structure. They are important interaction areas, not guaranteed ceilings/floors.
Transition Level
A supplied GEX regime/reference level used to frame whether current price is above or below an important transition area.
Dealer Pivot
A supplied dealer/gamma pivot reference used together with the broader GEX structure.
Confluence
Two or more independent references occupying a similar area. Confluence can increase contextual importance but does not guarantee a reaction.
Market Efficiency
A description of how effectively price is moving relative to participation, volatility and directional conditions. ANEF compresses several dimensions into a normalized proprietary score; the exact formula is intentionally not public.
